Event Sponsored by UPMC to Honor A Former Special Needs Buddy

The PSFCA Big 33 is excited to hold the 3rd Annual Big 33 Buddy Program Mini Golf Outing on Sunday, October 1from 2-4:00 p.m. at Liberty Forge (Creekside) in Mechanicsburg, Pa. This event is generously funded by UPMC and is held in honor of Sandra St. John, one of the first Big 33 Buddies. Upon her passing a few years ago, Sandra kindly named Big 33 in her will to inspire the creation of a fun, Buddy event in her honor.

The Mini Golf outing is open to all current and past Big 33 Buddies and their families, as well as new families who have a child with special needs. The FREE day includes playing mini golf, eating, and enjoying the company of other Big 33 Buddy Families. Buddies are encouraged to pre-register for the event prior to attending, by visiting www.Big33.org.

“We are grateful to Sandra for her participation in our Big 33 Football Classic Buddy Program years ago.  Bringing our buddies together allows us to not only honor her legacy, but to also create enjoyment for all through our ongoing Big 33 Buddy Program activities. For the second year in a row, we are thrilled to have Boiling Springs High School football players join us in mini golf with our Buddies,” said Nicole Whitmire, Associate Director, PSFCA Big 33.

The esteemed Big 33 Buddy Program features individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This program was started in 1985. It is designed to partner a child with special needs with a Big 33 athlete. The meaningful program has grown through the years and continues to partner Big 33 Buddies with Big 33 Players and Cheerleaders. For more information, go to www.Big33.org or follow them on Facebook @Big33FootballClassic, Instagram @PFSCABig33FootballClassic or on Twitter @psfcabig33. Money raised from the game helps support the Big 33 Buddy Program which connects kids with special needs with all-star athletes in football, cheerleading and beyond.
