Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association (PSFCA) Announces and Applauds Renewal by Andersen of Central Pa as The Prestigious Big 33 Football Classic Title Sponsor

Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association (PSFCA) announced Title Sponsor Renewal by Andersen of Central PA for the 2024 Big 33 Football Classic to be held at Cumberland Valley High School. The esteemed PSFCA Big 33 Football Classic Presented by Renewal by Andersen of Central PA will be played on Sunday, May 26th at Chapman Field, Mechanicsburg, PA, where the PIAA is now successfully hosting the State Championship Football Games. Once again, Renewal by Andersen is also sponsoring The Peyton Walker Foundation Heart Screening for Team PA.

PA HEAD COACH:

PSFCA is also proud to announce that this year’s PA Team Head Coach is Tom Gravish from the Jersey Shore High School Bulldogs. Coach Gravish has been coaching high school football for 34 years with 173 career wins.  Coach Gravish has received well-deserved recognition for his outstanding leadership over the decades as PA Sportswriters AAAA, PA Football News AAAA and PSFCA District 4 & District 6 Coach of the Year, along with various other illustrious coaching accolades. He’s been an Assistant Coach for Big 33, Head Coach for the East-West Games, and Past President of the PSFCA and more. Previously, he coached in Williamsport, Bellefonte, East Juniata and beyond. He has taken his teams to numerous conference and District Championships, along with a State Finals appearance. He’s a West Virginia University graduate and former WVU Baseball player.

Big 33 Memorial Day Weekend events currently are slated to start on Wednesday, May 22nd and conclude on Memorial Day Sunday, May 26th with the 67th Big 33 Football Classic. Pennsylvania and Maryland players and cheerleaders will all practice at Cumberland Valley High School. Other special events being planned over the holiday weekend for CVHS include: Big 33 Buddy Day, Big 33 Pep Rally, Big 33 Recognition Program, Big 33 Fan Fest, military recognition, youth football and cheer clinics, and other family-friendly activities.

The Big 33 tradition significantly contributes to the Region’s economy and businesses.  PSFCA took over the historic game seven years ago. PSFCA East West all-stars will play their Big School (5 PM) and Small School (Noon) all-star football games at Chapman Field on Sunday, May 19th. These games will feature seniors from Pennsylvania, as well as all-star cheerleaders.

The Big 33 Buddy Program is designed to partner youth with special needs with a Big 33 cheerleader or football player. Cheer buddies participate in the halftime routine. All buddies enjoy time with their players and cheerleaders during Big 33 weekend. Proceeds also assist in supporting military appreciation aspects of the Memorial Day Weekend.
