Central PA Business Susan’s Treasures Celebrates 25 Years of Offering Something Different to Customers By Giving Back To Area Charities

With an average two-thirds of every dollar ($0.67) spent at small businesses in the U.S. staying in the local community, Central Pennsylvania-based Susan’s Treasures will thank customers and the community through charitable projects and giveaways as they approach their 25th Anniversary in May!

Susan’s Treasures has served as one of Central Pennsylvania’s leading gift shops for 25 years and is owned by Susan Bonsall Singer and Nancy Smith. They credit their longevity to providing consistent quality products and excellent customer service, as well as to the strong relationships they have built with customers, artisans, vendors and staff. They also express gratitude for being able to continue opening their doors during the pandemic, thanks to financial support secured through U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) programs.

“Since opening my first location at What If Café on North 6th Street in Harrisburg in 1996, I am proud to continue fulfilling my vision to make customers feel welcome, offer quality products at all price ranges, along with the ease of shopping in a warm and inviting environment. We have grown and feature American companies, artisans and special items from around the world. We truly love our customers and the relationships we have built throughout the past 25 years and feel blessed to have weathered the pandemic so far,” says founding partner, Susan Bonsall Singer.

Susan’s Treasures is known for being a great place to find assorted gifts or something special for yourself and has become an informal community meeting place where friendships are forged and flourish between customers and store owners over the years, according to Singer.

“Susan’s Treasures is more than just a business to us. We value everyone who works with us from our loyal staff to the vendors and artisans who produce beautiful items for us, to our remarkable customers. Whether we are offering advice on a gift idea; teaming up with a local charity because a customer is involved in it; connecting other local businesses to networking opportunities; or sharing resources and entertaining ideas with new PA residents, we simply love our customers and love what we do in our community! We thank each person who has supported us, especially those who have shown us such kindness during this unprecedented pandemic that has inspired us to maintain hope for a bright future,” Singer added.

Launched in May of 1996, Susan’s Treasures is located at the Shops Upstairs at the West Shore Farmers Market in Lemoyne and features a wide variety of ever-changing gifts, jewelry, handbags, bath & body items, clothing, home fragrances, personal accessories and decor. According to the PA Department of Community and Economic Development, Pennsylvania is a state of small businesses, with one million as of November 2019, pre-pandemic.

“We are thrilled to celebrate our 25th Anniversary with our fabulous customers who mean the world to us. Our number one goal is to make our customers happy, help them find the perfect gift and inspire and uplift them to treat themselves with the perfect piece of jewelry, article of clothing, a fashionable accessory or a special handbag.  Susan and I are proud of how we successfully navigated through the pandemic and are still giving back to our community and so many valuable charitable projects because of our loyal customers who supported us every step along the way,” added co-owner Nancy B. Smith.

Susan’s Treasures features a robust, popular online store that the owners enhanced during the pandemic when the store was shut down. Shoppers can visit SusansTreasures.com to view or order featured items with larger in-store selections available.
