How Greystone Derby Day Benefits VOPA:
By participating in Derby Day, you are DIRECTLY supporting VOPA’s Tiny Homes Project and Community. Proceeds from Derby Day will help combat homelessness with Veterans Outreach of PA as they build a tiny home community to support Veterans through access to housing, health, wellness, education, employment, and countless of other services.
Event Co-Chair Cate Oyler says, “Derby Day is one of my favorite days of the year! VOPA is such a wonderful organization, with a meaningful cause offering critical resources to our veterans. We’re looking forward to this year’s festivities complete with amazing Derby-inspired foods and games, the BIG RACE, fantastic silent auction items and so much more.”
“We are blessed with a caring community and wonderful sponsors who are helping us support a great charity that will combat homelessness through essential services and housing right here in Central Pennsylvania,” Shirley Frisch, Event Co-Chair added.
VOPA Co-founder and Chairman, Tom Zimmerman said, “We are in the final stretch of our fundraising efforts and are so close to reaching our goal, which will allow us to break ground within months. Derby Day will do so much to bring us across the finish line and advance our mission to build 15 tiny homes and a community center for veterans who are currently without shelter. We are exceedingly grateful to everyone involved with Greystone Derby Day, and are so inspired by the sense of community, the spirit of giving, and the support of our mission that this special gathering spurred last year and reinvigorates this year.”
