Renewal by Andersen of Central PA (RbA) continues to celebrate 30 successful years in the home improvement business by announcing a 30-day community challenge, their “Renewal Cares Back to School Drive 4 Success” that runs through August 20 to help less fortunate students in Central Pennsylvania. RbA is teaming up to equip students and families served by Harrisburg area nonprofit “All You Can Inc.” with school supply donations and collecting them at the Renewal by Andersen of Central PA (RbA) Mechanicsburg Showroom. Donations are being requested from the public, businesses, civic groups, clubs and beyond. Donated new items can be delivered to Renewal by Andersen at the Mechanicsburg Showroom or anyone can shop online and have supplies shipped directly to the RbA Carlisle Pike location. You can also mail a check made payable to All You Can Inc.
“As we continue celebrating our 30th anniversary at RbA, we are proud to give back to our communities and families throughout the region through our ‘Renewal Cares’ initiatives. With the start of school only weeks away, we know many families struggle to afford those essential school supplies their students need. Our wonderful Renewal team is pleased to equip them with educational supplies because we care. Together, we can offer our youth a winning chance to succeed and provide hope for a bright future. We are happy to partner with Ralph and All You Can Inc. to provide learning tools to kids in need,” said Linda Johnston, Chief Culture Officer, Renewal by Andersen of Central PA.
Now through August 20, RbA is asking individuals, community groups and businesses throughout the Mid-State and beyond to drop off school supplies or gift cards or a check (payable to All You Can Inc) to their Collection Site: Renewal by Andersen of Central PA (RbA), Mechanicsburg Showroom, 4856 Carlisle Pike during business hours Monday through Saturday. Also, anyone can shop online to order supplies and have them shipped to RbA. An Amazon Wishlist is available at: https://www.amazon.com/registries/gl/guest-view/1PCYVNQT4KPSJ

The School Drive will benefit youth served by Harrisburg nonprofit, All You Can Inc., that provides basic needs and emergency resources to at-risk families in inner cities in the Harrisburg region and beyond. They also hold holiday events for families to provide meals and gifts and run educational programs.
“We are extremely grateful to Linda and the dedicated Renewal by Andersen team for continuing to empower our youth and for their big hearts to support these families who need our support. We are also calling on Central PA to join us to make an important impact in the lives of families who need our assistance to provide these back-to-school essentials,” said Ralph Rodriguez, President, All You Can Inc.
RbA Central PA CEO Scott Brodkorb added, “The contributions and donations to our ‘Back to School Drive’ support students and families who really need our help the most in the Harrisburg region. By furnishing school necessities, we are helping to prepare these students for a positive start to their school year. At Renewal, we believe in giving back and in being difference-makers in our communities. We are looking forward to a successful outpouring of support to remove this financial burden for these families who face difficult daily challenges.”
Families that wish to participate in the All You Can Inc school supply distribution on Saturday, August 23, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at 522 S. 22nd Street, Harrisburg, must pre-register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/back-to-school-giveaway-tickets-1485392652409?aff=oddtdtcreator
SOME KNOWN FACTORS: With inflation driving up the affordability of essential household purchases, back-to-school supply prices have increased, making it difficult for some families, especially those living in poverty. Areas with high poverty rates are typically the areas where schools are struggling with these costs.
- Studies show that children having school supplies of their own can improve grades, creativity, attitude towards learning, behavior, peer relationships and self-image.
- Education is the first step to overcoming poverty. A single pack of pencils and paper can be the gateway to a bright promising year.
- Children need to be equipped to have a better learning experience, and supplies are part of that.
